Thanks very much for the hospitality that you showed during my two short weeks here in Little Rock! It was awesome to meet you all (or should I say y'all) and get some much needed ice time in. And I managed to score a few bargains on some hockey gear. Good luck and all the best with all your games! Until next time . . .

Subject:interested in playing
Hello, I have been playing hockey for one whole year now and I have been told by everyone where I live that I'm really good for only playing for a very short while. But my question is... would you be interested in getting another player on your roster? I live in Rapid City, SD and I am moving back to Arkansas in about 2 weeks. I love hockey and I know the game pretty well. And I also intend on playing hockey as much as possible when I get back home(Arkansas). So, if there is a try-out or just want to catch me at drop-in hockey. Maybe we can work something out. And yes, this is kinda dumb to post this, but that is how serious I am about playing hockey. Anyway, email me back sometime and maybe we can work something out. By the way, as soon as I get back to Arkansas, maybe the day of returning, I am jumping on the ice. I will post back telling when I will be at the Skatium. Talk to you all soon. Brandon H.

Hey guys Some of you know of me cuz I'm the guy who posts on the We Want Hockey board as Stormcrow. Just wanted to let you guys know that I and my family are finally relocating back home and we'll be in the Rock permanently in a couple of weeks. Hopefully, I'll have enough room in the car for my gear so I can hit the ice quick before the movers get stuff down! Also, while being out here on the east coast, I've become an avid player of the Irish sports of Gaelic football and hurling. Hurling is the grandfather of ice hockey and probably the oldest sport on Earth. If anyone would be interested in learning about it or playing it, let me know! I will be starting a club with a goal of playing nationally competitive travel play as well as local rec play. I'll buy the hurleys (sticks) so it would cost people nothing to get involved. Anyways, see you guys on the ice fairly soon!

Hey, Gary, I emailed you back, but I figured that others may want to know the answer, too. Currently, there are no pickup games scheduled on a regular basis. Once the hockey youth league season ends (usually around April), generally the Skatium adds pickup hockey times, which will be posted on the Skatium's website at www.arkansasskatium.com. However, I have recently found out that there are a few dates and times that are scheduled for pickup games, so here they are: Wednesday, February 6, 8:30-10:30pm; Sunday, March 30, 7:45-9:15pm; Wednesday, April 2, 8:30-10:30pm; Sunday, April 27, 7:45-9:15pm; Wednesday, April 30, 8:30-10:30pm. The cost for each game is $20 per player.

Subject:Thanks to the Rusty Blades
I want to take a little time to thank everyone that I had the privilege to meet this past Sunday night. I had an awesome time and got exactly what I was looking for; a little motivation to get in better shape as well as the benefit of interacting with folks who share a common passion - the sport of hockey. Also, to see group of grown adults taking time to allow a young girl to participate in drills and even a scrimmage without hearing any grumbling is something that is almost unheard of. I think that is what sets this group apart from others. Everyone is just there to have a little fun, let off a little steam, get a little exercise, and socialize without taking themselves too seriously. This is a great group of folks and I would highly recommend this group/program to anyone looking for a great workout or more importantly a great way to mingle with a great group of folks.
